About Us
Forrest Folen, CPT has obtained national certifications from ACE (American Council on Exercise) and NCSF (National Council on Strength and Fitness), and is currently preparing to take his NASM exam for his 3rd certification. He has owned two successful training businesses, Way of Life Personal Training, and his new business, Fit For Life Solutions. He has over seven years experience in body/mind fitness and group fitness, and ten years experience in martial arts (he holds a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do) and meditation.
Forrest’s passion is his desire to help others create a better life for themselves through training the body and mind. His vision of fitness is a holistic view that takes roots in his martial arts training. He also lives by wise words of wisdom given to him by his late grandmother, “Take care of your body, and your body will take care of your mind. Take care of your mind, and your mind will take care of your life.”
Forrest started Fit For Life Solutions, which includes Fit For Life Bootcamp, with Roy Schuhmacher in May of 2008. The combination of Forrest’s mind/body training and Roy’s practical, results-oriented approach is the foundation of Fit For Life’s successful training programs.

Roy Schuhmacher is an aspiring amateur bodybuilder with years of sports training experience, ranging from Basketball, Football, Baseball, even to Boxing. He has been motivating people to be better all his life as a competitor and now as a trainer and coach. Roy trains with a nationally recognized IFBB (International Federation of Bodybuilding) Pro Bodybuilder on a religious basis and plans to make a big impact on the bodybuilding community in the near future. He takes the knowledge and experience from himself and others he trains with and passes it on to his clients to help them better themselves.
When he started his own journey into fitness training, Roy researched and studied on how to obtain his goals in the most effective ways, always looking to the science portion of fitness training.
Roy tells his clients “When you find the road that leads to results, you’ve got to walk it slow and steady. Keeping a positive outlook is the best way to stay motivated, don’t always look at the scale and numbers, think about how you feel and how it makes you better as a person.” Roy knows the hardest thing about fitness training is consistency but he reassures his clients that commitment leads to results.
Roy’s training approach is full of variety, but stems in the proven principles of bodybuilding. He incorporates a range of exercise routines from full body workouts on the stability ball to heavy leg training on the squat rack. “I look at the body as a whole. You can’t focus too much attention on one part. Training must be a whole body experience, whether it’s a single full body workout or even a weekly split routine.” His outlook on nutrition is that it comes first to obtain results, whether it’s putting on a few pounds of muscle before summer, or shredding off those last few pounds after the holidays. “Setting long and short term goals is key to maintaining focus and staying motivated.”
