“Fit for Life has changed my life in more ways than I could’ve ever imagined. I’ve gained physical and inner strength, confidence, and most importantly, a much healthier lifestyle. When I first joined the program I was extremely unhealthy and unhappy with the way I felt and looked. The program has helped me take control of my health and that to me is priceless.
On my first day of class I felt very intimidated because I doubted my ability to complete the required exercises. But the trainers at FFL have always been incredibly supportive and motivating and have truly helped me obtain my goals. They are always there to answer any questions, help me with my meals, and create a fun environment, no matter how challenging the workout. Being able to workout at different locations has also allowed me to meet different people and to work with different trainers. With their help, I’ve been able to turn my weight loss journey into a fun, incredible lifestyle.
I’m forever grateful to Roy, Veronica, James, Brooke, Amera, Eric, the other trainers, and the Fit For Life members. I have found a family in Fit For Life!” – Francisco Rivera
“My name is Amelia Ramos. I am a middle school teacher and fitness enthusiast. I love my healthy, clean eating lifestyle! Over a year ago, I would tell you that fitness and healthy eating were not my priorities. With so many obligations and responsibilities on my plate, I just became one of those people who occasionally exercised and occasionally ate healthy, hoping to get a quick fix for my weight loss.
I was on a weight roller coaster, and there was no end in sight. In January of 2014, my beloved grandmother passed away from complications with Diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and dialysis. I remember sitting with her, holding her hand, which of course looks exactly like mine, and I realized that my life was heading down the exact same path. I have Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, an autoimmune disease, which causes weight gain and has affected every other vital organ in my body, causing other medical conditions including hypothyroidism, hypoglycemia, chronic migraines, chronic bronchitis, asthma, tachycardia and cardiac arrhythmia, hypertension, high cholesterol, adrenal deficiency, digestive issues, and various nutrient deficiencies.
I knew that I had to get control of my life; I had to make me a priority, and I knew that I needed support. Fit For Life was the one place where I felt 100% motivated and supported. I sat through the 6-week challenge orientation, and as nervous and unsure as I was, I made the decision to that changed my life forever. The more I focused on my goals of weight loss and incorporating healthier habits, the more results I saw.
Pounds began to drop, inches shrank, and I was feeling amazing. I felt stronger, yes stronger physically, but what was even more remarkable, was that I was feeling stronger emotionally. There was nothing to hold me back—-not even my medical issues could keep me from my desire to improve my health, and trust me, there were some really difficult moments with my health during this journey. In spite of my medical issues, in a little over a year, I lost a total of 65 pounds, over 10% body fat, and between 6-8 dress sizes. I am no longer pre-diabetic, I do not have hypertension or high cholesterol, and I am down to one asthma inhaler.
I am a completely new person, and I owe it all to Fit For Life. Without the incredible support from the fitness instructors, Roy, his lovely wife, Veronica, and my FFL family, I would not be where I am today. Fit For Life gave me back my life! I continue to eat clean, healthy food, and I workout at least five days a week not only to work towards achieving my ultimate fitness goal, but simply because I love it! I love who I am, inside and out, and I am not turning back! Thank you, Fit For Life!!!” – Amelia Ramos
“I am so blessed to have found Fit For Life. I’ve learned how to eat and what not to eat and now I enjoy exercise for the first time in my life. It is truly an amazing place to work out. You have personal trainers that help you achieve your goals, everybody motivates each other, and everybody helps everybody. It is truly a fun group.
When I showed up for orientation I weighed 239 lbs and had NO energy to do the things I love to do. My wife couldn’t get her arms around me and I didn’t feel too good about my appearance at all. At my weigh in six weeks later I was 217 lbs. I lost 22 lbs and never felt better. It’s not like a gym, more like a family of friends that want you and help you to achieve your goals.
I continued the program and lost another 11 lbs bringing me to 206 lbs :-). I am now only 6 lbs away from my goal weight of 200 lbs and that 6 lbs won’t take long to lose. I might even go ahead and lose an extra 5 or 10 before my upcoming vacation cruise in September!
Even when we go out to eat and I feel like “treating” myself to a cheeseburger or something unhealthy, when it comes time to order, my body just doesn’t really want that anymore. I end up ordering a steak with brown rice and a salad or something else delicious, but healthy. I’ve learned that the food you eat is 80% of the weight loss program. The exercise gives you the strength and energy you need to accomplish your goals and tone up the flabby spots (LOL).
I am forever grateful to Roy for starting this program and to all the wonderful trainers and workout partners for all the support and motivation thus far.
I wholeheartedly and highly recommend this organization. Fit for Life has changed my life tremendously.” – Patrick ‘Dusty’ Miller
